Crossing the Pla de Beret you reach Montgarri (1,645 m) which due to its isolation was completely depopulated between 1945 and 1955.<\/p>\n

The Sanctuary of Montgarri, located to the left of the Noguera Pallaresa, dates from the 16th century and some elements of the
Romanesque building remain, with a single nave, good proportions and a wooden roof, the octagonal bell tower finished in arrow.<\/p>\n

A polychrome wooden cross with a nailed Christ from the 13th century is preserved in the Frederic Mar\u00e8s Museum in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

Around the sanctuary is the rectory and the old hospital that welcomed pedestrians.<\/p>\n

On July 2 and August 15, a very popular pilgrimage is held, highly regarded by the towns of the valley, in veneration of the Virgin of Montgarri.<\/p>\n

The rectory has been restored and offers shelter service, there is also a restored hut that offers restaurant service.<\/p>\n
