The town of Gar\u00f2s (136 inhabitants) located at 1,115 m altitude is the border between the Naut Aran and the Mig Aran. The town rises a little above the valley, to the right of the Garona, between the ravines of Cal and Salider.<\/p>\n

The parish church of Sant Juli\u00e0, which centers the old town, is of Romanesque origin, but was thoroughly renovated in the 15th century. The bell tower dates from 1619, and due to its “dimensions” it looks like a defense tower.<\/p>\n

The main altar is Baroque (1774), it preserves an interesting carved Christ, a Gothic image of Mary and a silver processional cross.<\/p>\n

The cemetery is closed by a Renaissance iron gate. It is a bright and very pleasant town, and offers a wide range of restaurants, hotels and rural houses. Celebrate the main festival on August 16 for Sant Roc and August 28 for Sant Juli\u00e0.<\/p>\n
